On March 23, the dead body of a 5-year-old girl who was raped and slain was recovered 150-meters away from their house in Purok 5 Palkan, Polomolok, South Cotabato.
According to reports made by Bombo Radyo, Jen Arencio’s daughter was stabbed 12 times which left deep wounds all over her chest, legs and hands. Her torso was cut open which exposed her intestines. According to the police reports, her body was found naked which made them conclude that she was initially raped before her suspect brutally murdered her.
The police immediately identified the suspect as 21-year-old Benjamin Balasabas Jr. He was also suspected of being a drug addict as he claimed that the bloodstains on his shirt were from the dove he ate as his meal.
The investigation showed that the suspect abducted the victim from the house at around 11 pm. Jen Arencio has to work at night so she left her children alone inside their residence. She did not expect that this would happen to her little girl who was just innocently sleeping when the suspect did his crime.
Meanwhile, a graphic photo of the victim’s body was recovered alongside Jen Arencio’s video in pain and sorrow. She was still in disbelief that her 5-year-old child would ever experience such brutality.
Meanwhile, the suspect is now currently under the police custody and faces charges of rape and homicide.
