Exclusive - Computer Science Graduate Tells His Story Saying, 'Never Naging Hadlang Ang Lovelife Sa Pag-aaral!'

“Wag na wag kayo natitisod sa mga sinasabi ng iba sapagkat alam mo mismo sa inyong sarili na MALI SILA. DI NILA ALAM BUONG KWENTO MO”

These are the powerful words Christian D. Mabanta used in his lengthy Facebook post addressed to the people who also believed that love and studies can work together if properly balanced.

Christian, who is now a Computer Science graduate, is one of the victims of discrimination and criticism when he decided to attend to his studies and love life simultaneously. There are times when people doubt people like Christian as they judge them for their failure to balance their focus and priorities.

Couples who are in high school or college were criticized for the belief that they will not be able to graduate because of their ‘premature’ romantic relationship

In a conservative society like the Philippines, such stereotypes are no longer extraordinary. In fact, they happen on a regular and normal basis as if all couples enjoying their relationship at an early age would end up wasting their lives.

However, Christian is also one of those who fearlessly proved that youth today have the ability to balance studies and love life. When he finally received his college diploma, he recalled all the hardships that he and his girlfriend Kimberly Shane had.

He then sent a very powerful message for the students like him who are in a romantic relationship with their partners while studying.

Christian powerfully called for them to be brave and strong despite the judgmental statements that people would throw at them. He encouraged them to believe in themselves and stay focus on their game. He also asked them to dismiss people who doubt their abilities and capacities

The successful student’s message enlightened thousands of online users as his post went extremely viral. It has now more than 30,000 Facebook reactions and more than 8,000 shares.
