Exclusive - Queen Pia's Side Finally Speaks up on the Controvery Against a Brunei-Based Pinay Businesswoman! READ HERE!

Miss Universe 2015 Pia Wurtzbach was tagged in a controversy when a Brunei-based Filipina businesswoman in the name of Kathelyn Dupaya lambasted her on the internet. 

Philippine Entertainment Portal revealed that on April 20, Dupaya posted on her Instagram a picture of the beauty queen, together with a long caption.  

According to the source, she said, “Huwag ka magbigay babala sa mga tao pupunta sa brunei para mag ingat sa akin.”  

“Unang-una, wala kaming pinakita sau masama nung pumunta ka dito yung binigay namin service kaiba kung compare sa iba celebrities. Mga celebrities at beauty queen pumunta dito walang security guard, ikaw ilan ang hinanda namin para mabigyan ka ng maganda welcome sa brunei”  

She continued, “hindi ka lang marunong mag appreciate kasi hayop ang ugali mo hindi ka man lang magpasalamat sa mga pagod namin.” 

It turned out that Dupaya was the one responsible for bringing Pia (along with her boyfriend Marlon) to Brunei after the beauty queen had expressed her desire to visit the country.  

Dupaya revealed that she invited Pia for the grand opening of the spa she owns there. However, it was alleged that Pia didn’t show any cordiality to the businesswoman, according to the latter’s Instagram post.  

Pia visited Brunei this February 2017 but it was only now that Dupaya was able to express her sentiments. She also alleged that Pia thought the Hermes bag she gave her “fake.” 

In light of the controversy, Pia’s mentor Jonas Gaffud released an unofficial statement to clarify the side of the former Miss Universe.  

According to ABS-CBN News, Gaffud posted on his Facebook account this status:  

“To those who are reading or have read news about whatever happened in Brunei, stay tuned. We will give our statement soon. Don’t believe everything you read.”  

He continued, “People love to gossip and spread rumors but we are prepared to answer allegations such as this. Thanks to everyone who always believe in Pia Wurtzbach.”  

In addition, the beauty queen mentor said that his camp “have evidence to show that somebody took advantage of Pia.”
