Facebook user Cladgedon Argawanon, however, begs to differ.
Last April 7, his Facebook post went viral for a very odd reason. The photo he posted on his Facebook account shows a selfie of him together with a girl named Marries Cabral. Victory is clearly painted all over his face. Unfortunately, the two are not lovers... not even close.
As it turns out, Cladgedon is happy with the fact that he has now been promoted from just a “friend” to being the girl’s “bestfriend” after 5 years of spending time together.
The caption on his post reads: “SA WAKAS! After 5 years ko na paghihirap sa kanya! Dugot pawis na effort ang binuhos ko para lang mapasaya siya! Pero ngayon I can't believe na aabot kami sa punto na to! Dati friend lang kami, ngayon BESTFRIEND na!! Ang sarap sa feeling. Grabe. Wooooohh..”
Others felt sorry for the guy while some found the post funny. Others felt hopeful that despite being in the friendzone, they could at least spend time with the girl of their dreams.
Netizen Darel Jison said “nag level UP kahit papano.” while Facebook user Janchristopher Avanceña commented ”Tangina sakit naman neto :( huhu”
In the end, it really just depends on your point of view, You can either get depressed because of the rejection or look at the brighter side and enjoy the moments you spend together -- as friends.
