Do you remember Lyca Gairanod, the grand champion of ‘The Voice Kids’ Philippines edition? Do you remember hearing her soaring voice and her oh-so-wow performances?

It sure seems that time does fly fast because now, that kid you used to watch on television is now a beautiful young lady at 12-years-old.

Lyca used to be coached by Sarah Geronimo throughout the season’s duration and was in fact, wanted by Broadway performer Lea Salonga as well.

However, the latter decided against it because, according to her, she felt that Lyca was “meant to be” under Sarah’s program.

Lyca initially performed “Halik” in her auditions, which was originally performed by Aegis. Her number was incredibly talked about and garnered much buzz on the internet.

She continued to sing songs performed by powerful vocalists throughout the season.

Among her renditions were “Halik” by Aegis, “Isang Lahi” by Regine Velasquez, “Dance with My Father (Filipino version)” by Luther Vandross, “Pangarap na Bituin” by Sharon Cuneta, “Narito Ako” by Regine Velasquez, “Call me Maybe” by Carly Rae Jepsen, and “Basang-Basa sa Ulan” by Aegis.”

The last three songs managed to earn her the top spot among her fellow contestants, leading towards her grand victory in the first season.

Lyca was able to land a recording contract with music label MCA Music (Philippines), which handled the careers of The Dawn, Chicosci, Pops Fernandez, Pedicab, Solenn Heussaff, and Urbandub, among others.

After her stint with ‘The Voice Kids,’ Lyca tried to appear on television as an actress and bagged a role in the drama-anthology ‘Maalaala Mo Kaya,’ playing a role of herself.

She was able to guest in some shows as well, mainly ‘ASAP,’ ‘Your Face Sounds Familiar Kids,’ ‘It’s Showtime,’ and ‘The Voice Philippines (Season Two).’

Now, many fans and followers of the precocious kid has noticed her exceptional growth towards being a beautiful pre-teen.

YouTube account ‘Trendz Today’ recently released a compilation of how much the young star has developed to an already-mature 12-year-old young lady.
