Trending Now - People Are Leaving Their Dogs To Die During Hurricane Harvey, And These Pics Will Break Your Heart
Pictures of dogs chained up and abandoned in the dangerously rising flood waters from Hurricane Harvey are going viral. Though officials have warned repeatedly against leaving pets and livestock tied up during the storm, we see poor canines chained up in Texas, probably just hours from drowning…
When it comes to such animal abuse, the officers are strict: “I promise you, that I will hold anyone accountable that unlawfully restrains their dog in extreme weather conditions,” Chief Stephen Carlisle said in a statement on Friday. “Dogs are your family members too.”
“Please do not keep your family members tied to a rope or chain” the police department in Montgomery County said on Facebook. They added: “It is against the law to keep a dog on a chain during extreme weather conditions.”
We couldn’t agree more. Our hearts are with the people and pets who have been affected by the storm.
