Exclusive - Duterte Reveals US Took American Bombing Suspect From Davao In 2002: "Kaya Ako Galit Kasi Binastos Nila Ako"

President Rodrigo Duterte finally talks about his long time grudge against US and how the they disrespected the country when officials of the US Embassy took an American bombing suspect and flew him back to America.

"Binastos tayo ng America," Duterte said on a press conference held at the Davao International Airport on Friday night.

The incident the President was referring to was the Evergreen Hotel bombing at the city of Davao in 2002 where American suspect Michael Terrence Meiring was charged with possession of explosive device but was still able to fly out of the country. Duterte was still the mayor of Davao at that time.

Officials of the US Embassy took custody of Meiring while he was still in the hospital explaining that he would be brought to Makati Medical Treatment for faster recovery. However as the President explained, Meiring was then on nowhere to be found.

"But what they did is fly out to singapore and then to the United States. To this day parang Batman and Robin mystery, no explanation," Duterte said.

Duterte also noted that he met with US Ambassador Francis Ricciardone

"They promised they will conduct a full investigation. Hanggang ngayon wala ako natanggap, maski note man lang."

It was at that moment when the President became emotional noting how United States disrespected the sovereignty of the Philippines.

"Kung tayong ginagawa sa atin, there was not even an apology sa atin," he said. "Kaya ako galit, kasi binastos nila ako. Is that mutual respect? It has not appeased me at all."
