Last Thursday, President Duterte said that God talked to him and made a promise that he will stop cussing while delivering his speeches.
"I was looking at the skies as I was coming over here. And I... everybody was asleep snoring. A voice said that you know 'If you don't stop (inaudible), I will bring this plane down now.' And I said, who is this? Of course, it's God. Oh, OK. So, I promised God not to express slang, cuss words,” President Duterte said when he arrived in Davao City after his official visit in Japan for three days.
"You guys hear me right always because a promise to God is a promise to the Filipino people," Duterte added.
The people who attended the event clapped but Duterte said, "Huwag masyadong palakpak, baka mapalpak pa tuloy."
President Duterte was asked if when it comes to United States, the European Union and Senator De Lima he will not cuss anymore, he said: "There is always a time."
He did not say any foul word during the press conference.
