Despite their political rivalry, President Rodrigo Duterte showed his respect to former President Cory Aquino and Senator Ninoy Aquino, the parents of former President Noynoy Aquino. He sent flowers to their grave in Manila Memorial Park, Parañaque City.
Kris Aquino, expressed her thanks to President Duterte for sending flowers to her parents’ grave.
“Maraming Salamat po Pangulong Duterte for the heartwarming gesture of sending our Dad & Mom flowers,” Kris said on her Instagram account.
Aside from President Duterte, Manila Mayor Erap Estrada also gave flowers and was also later thanked by Kris.
President Duterte also gave flowers to the grave of late Presidents Elpidio Quirino, Diosdado Macapagal and Carlos Garcia at Libingan ng mga Bayani in Taguig City.
