Compared to other children, Melissa’s childhood experience is far from normal. She grew up in foster care and her mother was in and out of jail for being abusive and being dependent on drugs.
Now, she’s 21-year-old working in the US Marines and she never had the chance to grow up with her brothers, JJ and Christian. In fact, she never saw them in six years. They were always split up in various foster homes.
She also found out that her mother was tested positive for meth use and now she wants full custody on her siblings.
Melissa’s fate may be in her favor but the judge is not, as he may not grant her custody because she’s too young and she can’t afford financial care as she can barely afford her rent.
Even if there may be better foster parents than her, she is determined to embark a 2,000 mile drive to Alabama and plead for custody.
What she didn’t know is that Prank It FWD, a positive prank video project by Break and Youtube star Smosh, decided to pay Melissa’s gas, one month rent and food for the trip. Not only that, Melissa was surprised with a brand new Toyota to drive.
For every one thousand views, Prank It FWD will give $1 to DoSomething.org. If videos went viral and get one million views, they can give $1,000 to the people who are in need of help people like Meliisa.
The greatest gift Melissa got on this trip: the judge granted her full custody to her siblings.
Now, she can give her siblings the childhood she never got.
