Exclusive - Ambassadress Mocha Uson Holds Press Conference About MMFF At Malacañang Palace

On Wednesday, singer-dancer and blogger Mocha Uson gave a brief statement in Malacañang, promoting this year's Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF).

In a story by pep.com, Mocha Uson was called the ambassadress of the MMFF by Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) and MMFF over-all chairman Tim Orbos. This was made official during the Metro Manila Film Festival grand press conference held last December 15

A staunch supporter of President Rodrigo Duterte, Uson said she will promote the festival via social media.

"Tutulong po ako sa social media at sa iba pang paran para hikayatin ang ating mga kababayan," she said.

The sexy star also reminded the public to unite in the service of the country – and not be divided over opinion.

This year's MMFF will feature indie films that Uson urged the public to watch. She called for a change and support in the Filipino independent film industry; which has many talented yet underappreciated film makers.

Film Development Council of the Philippines (FDCP) chairperson and member of the MMFF Executive Committee Liza Diño-Seguerra revealed during the same briefing that the MMFF's goal has always been to showcase these films with different themes resonant with Filipinos.

"It’s a unifying, very diverse yet concerted efforts ang ginagawa ng lahat ng mga entries." Seguerra said, referring to this year’s entries.

"And it’s really a landmark opportunity for our independent film producers to have the exposure and the platform to showcase their films, especially this Christmas season.

She said that the goal of the 2016 MMFF was to provide a platform for these indie movies that show unique stories with different themes to the Filipino audience.

"I think this opportunity to open this film festival for all, and really concentrate on artistic excellence is a good move for the Metro Manila Film Fest." she added
