Reportedly, an Indonesian street tea-vendor spent all of his savings to buy his daughter a smartphone. The daughter was supposedly too embarrassed to attend school without a one.

In a Facebook post by VideoViral dotcom, the father noticed that his daughter had stopped going to school. She didn't want to return to school because all of her classmates have smartphones – she was the only one without one.

The father then scraped together all of the money he had ever saved just to buy her daughter a phone. He did it just to send her daughter back to school.

The total amount of his savings: IDR 6M or Php 22,419.

After their photos went viral, many netizens expressed their disappointment in the daughter's behavior.
