Exclusive - Read This Touching Story of a Netizen Who Bikes All the Way From Manila to Bohol for His Sick Brother!

This is the story of Jessie Halig, a netizen who touched the hearts of many people through his campaign to help his sick brother in the province of Sorsogon.

Halig shared his determination through biking. He was on a biking trek in Pasig City when he decided to post his journey to help his sick brother named Rham on Facebook.

He attached a harrowing photo of his brother but did not mention what kind of illness he had.

In his post he wrote, “Magba bike ako para sayo kuya rham..Gusto ko lumaban ka..kaya mo yan..kaya natin..gagaling ka.. Padyak ko ito para sayo…”

He started his journey on January 18. Halig first reached Alaminos, Laguna where he met a group of bikers who assisted him.

At around 1 p.m. on Thursday, the determined biker reached Naga City in Camarines Sur and stopped for a short lunch break.

He then continued his journey and reached Ligao City, Albay 5 hours later.

Halig is expected to arrive in his hometown by Friday morning or afternoon. In total, the Manila-Sorsogon stretch is approximately more than 500 kilometers long and it normally takes 10-12 hours on a bus – excluding heavy traffic or untoward incidents.

Halig’s unwavering determination caught the attention of many netizens who have learned about his journey. A lot of them encouraged him and admired his efforts.

One commenter wrote, “May the Lord God guide your trip. May the Lord God’s healing mercy be unto your brother. Keep the Faith,”
