Exclusive - The Wonderful 'Light Pillars' Phenomenon In Canada Caught On Camera! LOOK HERE!

The internet was left in awe when this man from Ontario, Canada captured a rare phenomenon showing 'light pillars' ascending towards the sky.

Timothy Joseph Elzinga woke up to this amazing sight gleaming through his window, according to CBC News.

“I had to investigate. I got some pants on and ran outside and took some photos,” he said.

He posted the photos he took on Imgur, an online platform for sharing pictures.

This phenomenon occurs when light – either artificial or natural – bounces off of crystals floating near the ground.

The phenomenon in Ontario was caused by the 18 degree weather that was cold enough to result in the formation of ice crystals which refracted light hundreds of feet into the air. The lights projected from ground came from sources such as traffic lights and sign boards.

Elzinga said that the experience was like having someone from the science fiction franchise ‘Star Trek’ trying to beam people up.
