Trending Now - Blind Woodchuck Saved From Death In A Backyard Loves To Sleep Together With Its Rescuers
Meet Coco the woodchuck, who was badly injured and remained in the middle of a family’s yard for three days. When the people finally noticed her, they thought the little animal was dead. As they approached her, they realized she was still alive and called a local wildlife rehabber, Molly Ryan, who started treating her back to health.
The woman would get up twice at night to check on Coco. Eventually, they ended up sleeping together. “She would snuggle up right by me and make sure part of her body was touching me all night,” Ryan said.
Just as the woman started to think about releasing Coco back into the wild, when she realized something was wrong. “I noticed she held her eyes at half-mast or sometimes not open at all.” Ryan took her to the vet, and he confirmed: the animal was blind.
Just like this, Coco became a permanent member of Ryan’s family. The woman added: “There is nothing that makes getting out of bed harder than having to leave a gently snoring round fluffball of snuggling woodchuck.”
