Exclusive - 16 Injured in Lucban After Bridal Car Hits Pedestrians


16 people were reportedly injured after a white Hyundai hit some pedestrians and a few vehicles on a street in Lucban, Quezon on February 4, 2017. The driver responsible claims that the car went out of control as he was leaving the parking lot of a nearby church. 

One Facebook user was present when the unfortunate scene happened. He made it his duty to document the incident.

16 Injured in Lucban After Bridal Car Hits Pedestrians

The facebook user and some of the commenters who witnessed the accident claim that the Hyundai Accent was used as a bridal car.

As per the police report, the car hit some pedestrians and other vehicles on busy San Luis street early Saturday afternoon. 

According to an article from Inquirer.net, the driver of the white Hyundai Accent has been identified as Roger Penaflor. He is currently being held at the Lucban Jail. The police are still in the process of investigating the incident. 

Penaflor claims that he struggled with the brakes when he got out of the parking lot but was unable to stop the car as it was already going too fast. 

The victims were brought to the nearest hospital. However, those who suffered from critical injuries were moved to other hospitals in Lucena City.
