Tensions rose among two groups of protesters who were there for the EDSA Revolution’s annual commemoration after the groups caught up with each other. Apo Hiking Society’s Jim Paredes was part of one group and had something to say to the Duterte Youth.
People who were celebrating EDSA Revolution’s 31st anniversary demanded the Duterte Youth to leave the EDSA monument where they were all gathered. The Duterte Youth, who held their banner and fists high, were confronted by 65-year-old singer-songwriter, his mouth all up in their faces, questioning their principles and mocking their support for Duterte.
“What happened? Why did you sell your soul?” Paredes asked one of the Pro-Duterte Youth men, blatantly trying to provoke the men and push them into regrettable action. The Pro-Duterte Youth men, all 6 of them, were up against the big-mouthed 65-year old along with his friends, all wearing yellow, yelling at them and ridiculing their stand.
The Duterte Youth men were there to mediate interests and said that the President was being attacked by groups like Paredes’.
After a few more minutes, one protester from Paredes’ side started pushing on the Duterte Youth men, all just standing with their banner, and everyone started pushing and shoving.
Police were quick to respond and broke up the commotion immediately, but that didn’t stop all the mocking from the other side.
“Uwi! Mga t*ng ina n’yo! Uwi!” shouted Paredes’ side, while the Duterte Youth men walked in disbelief, unable to do anything about the unreasonable power tripping of the other side.
Netizens are shocked by Jim Paredes’ actions and behaviour and has caused the video to go #4 on YouTube’s Trending with over 160-thousand views in one day.
