Many netizens reacted violently after celebrity blogger and sex guru Mocha Uson was appointed as a board member in the Movie and Television Review and Classification Board (MTRCB) claiming that she is obviously not suited for it.
On Friday, the fanatical Duterte supporter shared her plans of resigning from her post, detailing her reason in a video she released to her "mga ka-DDS".
According to Mocha, some board members continued to allow TV networks to get away with obscene scenes in television shows, scenes that are not suitable for minor audiences.
Mocha's crusade against what she deemed as "softcore [p*rn]" on network television is quite ironic, as her history of being a sexy dancer and sex blogger predicated on a platform that could also be deemed as "softcore [p*rn]."
She explained on the tirade-filled video posted on her blog that these networks get away with playing mature scenes through the use of the "SPG" rating, which she claims was being abused incessantly. Mocha also mentioned specific shows that air despite its uncensored contents.
Mocha claimed that the MTRCB board members do not share her advocacy of true change, forcing her to resign.
"Kahit ano pong gawin ko na magkaroon ng pagbabago... wala rin pong mangyayari. Iisa lang po ako sa boardmembers," she explained.
Mocha claims that she was not desperate for the position and only hopes to implement change.
"Hindi po ako kapit tuko sa posisyon na to…ngayon kung hindi talaga mangyayari ang pagbabago na to..dahil may mga taong ayaw ng pagbabago.. eh magreresign po tayo," she angrily stated.
Mocha told fans she would talk to the MTRCB's chairman in hopes of bringing up the issue.
Mocha urged supporters and netizens to fight for the youth's right against these networks' personal interest in airing uncensored scenes that put money in the networks' pockets.
When Mocha was appointed as an MTRCB board member on January 5, the celebrity blogger promised to remove the "SPG" rating from television shows. This promise will seemingly remain unfulfilled.
