Majority of Teleserye viewers do not have a single idea what is happening behind the cameras of their favorite television shows. Whatever happens in the middle of each plot is deemed acceptable for the general audience especially when the events are weaved perfectly.
Philippine Entertainment Portal (PEP) made a list of Pinay celebrities who caused major changes in the plot of their teleseryes. These stars had to alter what was happening in their shows because of their pregnancies. Let's run through the list!
1.) KYLIE PADILLA
-Padilla has been in the hot spot for weeks because of her unexpected pregnancy and engagement confirmation. When the rumors of her pregnancy broke out, it was immediately followed by her management's confirmation together with the news that she is already engaged to her fiance, Aljur Abrenica. Padilla was currently playing the lead role of Amihan in GMA 7's Encantadia. Because of her condition, her character faced death and was laid to rest. There is still no confirmation whether she will return in the show's future episodes or not.
2.) BEAUTY GONZALES
-Gonzales was currently playing a major character in ABS-CBN's 'Ningning' when pregnancy rumors started to spread. In the middle of the show, her character died when she fell down the stairs. Months later, Gonzales posted a picture on Instagram confirming her 5-month pregnancy.
3.) TONI GONZAGA
-The TV host and actress was set to tape "Written In Our Stars" with actors Piolo Pascual and Sam Milby. However, it had to be postponed because of her pregnancy. When she gave birth in September 2016, there was still no assurance if the teleserye will continue as planned. Meanwhile, she already returned to hosting shows and starring in other Kapamilya sitcoms.

4.) ANGELIKA DELA CRUZ
-Dela Cruz was able to finish her GMA teleserye in April 2015 when she confirmed her pregnancy. Her scenes in "Healing Hearts" were taken in advance because of her condition. It was not the first time Dela Cruz was able to finish a teleserye during her pregnancy. In 2008, her hits "Una Kang Naging Akin" and "Lalola" ran smoothly while she was pregnant.
5.) MARIAN RIVERA
-Marian had to be replaced by Rhian Ramos as Glaiza De Castro's love interest in "A Rich Man's Daughter" when she and husband Dindong Dantes confirmed her delicate pregnancy. She was initially willing to finish the taping but later on withdrew because of her condition.
6.) EMPRESS SCHUCK
-While working for her current teleserye, 'Kailan Ba Tama Ang Mali' in GMA 7, rumors of Schuck's pregnancy started to break out. It was confirmed by the actress in April 2015. The management decided to portray her character as pregnant as well and it made a complete run in the Philippine television. She returned to her showbiz career through an episode of 'Ipaglaban Mo'.

7.) JUDY ANNE SANTOS
-On March 2015, Santos was set to work on a Dreamscape Entertaiment project entitled "Someone To Watch Over Me". However because of her confirmed pregnancy, it had to be postponed unil she gave birth. A year later, it was confirmed from Juday that the teleserye will no longer push through because according to her, "Napaglipasan na ng panahon".
8.) JOLINA MAGDANGAL
-The Kapamilya star had an ongoing GMA tv series when she found out about her pregnancy. Magdangal temporarily left "Mundo Mo'y Akin" to complete bed rest. She returned and stayed until the final episodes of the teleserye. After giving birth, she signed her contract with ABS-CBN.
9.) SARAH LAHBATI
-Sarah had to face legal charges filed by GMA 7 when she suddenly left the country to study in Switzerland. Pregnancy rumors intensified when she walked out of a taping shoot of her teleserye "Indio" because she was required to wear protective harness while doing her flying scenes. It was in 2013 when she was confirmed to have given birth to Baby Zion, her son to boyfriend Richard Gutierrez.

10.) ANDI EIGENMANN
-Andi's character as soldier Gabrielle Marcelo in ABS-CBN's "Minsan Lang Kita Iibigin" had to die so she could exit from the teleserye because of her pregnancy. When the plot killed off her character, she was already 5-months pregnant with her daughter, Ellie. Her pregnancy was confirmed by her mother, actress Jaclyn Jose, in an interview with TV Patrol.
11.) REGINE VELASQUEZ
-Regine's character in GMA teleserye "I Heart U Pare" had to be taken over by Iza Calzado as she confirmed pregnancy with husband, Ogie Alcasid. The couple confirmed their baby expectation in an episode of Party Pilipinas in 2011.
12.) DENISE LAUREL
-Denise was playing the character of Emerald Fortalejo in ABS-CBN teleserye "Precious Hearts Romances presents Kristine" when she was confirmed to be pregnant. The production show decided to alter the plot by having Emerald go to United States and return after several years. However, her character did not come back and so her partner, Rafael Rosel ended up with Iya Villania's character. Laurel confirmed in an interview in 'The Buzz' that she just gave birth.

13.) JENNYLYN MERCADO
-The actress' pregnancy was one of those that made a loud buzz in Philippine entertainment. This was because Mercado was at the height of her career when she got pregnant to ex-boyfriend Patrick Garcia. They became controversial as both of them starred 'Maging Akin Ka Lamang' in 2008. Their characters had to be replaced by Nadine Samonte and Polo Ravales. Her pregnancy also affected her exposure in "La Vendetta". Her ghost character was replaced by Jean Garcia.
14.) JODI STA. MARIA
-Because of the context of the hit teleserye 'Kampanerang Kuba', Sta. Maria managed to exit the series flawlessly. Her character used magic to transform her face and so she was taken over by Desiree Del Valle. It was then when she was confirmed pregnant with husband, Pampi Lacson.
15.) ANGELU DE LEON
-Angelu's love tandem with Bobby Andrews was very popular in the 90's when she was suddenly required to leave top-rating show 'Growing Up'. By then, she was confirmed to be pregnant with action star Joko Diaz's baby. Her character, Peachy, was set to marry Wacks, played by Bobby, but she did not show up in the wedding ceremony. In an interview with the PEP, Angelu revealed that the time came when she was caught between ‘Do you wanna continue the pregnancy, or you wanna continue the show?’. In the end, Angelu held on to her principles.
