In the city of Zamboanga, an 8-year-old carabao gave birth to a two-headed calf.
The carabao is owned by Dominador Delos Reyes, according to ABS-CBN news. Delos Reyes explained that the carabao had already given birth once making this its second pregnancy.
However this rare incident is the first time they delivered a two-headed calf. This fascinating event left many astounded. Unfortunately, the calf was not able to survive due to its condition.
Netizens who reacted regarding the odd news also shared their insights and speculations as to how the carabao was able to produce such an offspring. Since the case also happens to humans, many assume that the explanation behind the occurence is the same.
According to doctors, the unusual growth of an extra body part is a congenital disorder due to the failure of conjoined twins to separate while at the womb.
"It supposed to be 2 but the other one, eh di madevelop ng maayos kaya ayan ang result. Parang sa mga case ng conjoined twins lang din to. Pero I hope maka-survive to since isa lang body ata," netizen Xiaman Mendoza commented.
However this, in relation to the calf, has not been proven and remains as speculation.
