Most people live a very materialistic life. This happens when they want nothing else but all the luxurious things that money can buy. Instead of being content with what they have, they tend to keep accumulating and desiring more. This results to neglecting and forgetting about those who are less fortunate. All of these thoughts were brought to life when a Facebook user shared her experience with her patient. She was asked to clean her patient's fridge but to her great surprise, she found it totally empty.

Amanda Mary Perez is a personal care aide who did not expect that an ordinary day with her client would make her realize a very important lesson.

Amanda used her Facebook account to share how an empty fridge taught her a lesson about life. According to her, she was thinking of buying material things such as new car, new house, more clothes, shoes, etc. prior to this event. When she was at the house of her client, she was asked to clean his fridge and unfortunately, nothing was inside.

When she asked him who buys him food, her client answered: "I buy food when I have the money".

These words served as a wake-up call for Amanda as they hit her emotionally. She realized how painful life could be for a person who has nothing, not even his basic needs.

Upon realizing what mattered the most, Amanda made a decision of filling the fridge with all she could. She made a way to show compassion to the person who needed it the most during those moments.
