Exclusive - The Icon Clinic Finally Breaks Their Silence Over the Death of 29-Year-Old Businesswoman Shiryl Saturnino During Cosmetic Surgery.

The death of 29-year-old businesswoman Shiryl Saturnino during a botched cosmetic surgery on March 26 went viral as netizens wanted to know how her untimely passing came about.
Saturnino arrived at the Icon Clinic in Mandaluyong City on Saturday to get a liposuction as well as breast and butt surgery. The procedures were performed by doctors Jose Jovito Mendiola and Samuel Eric Yapjuangco. At around 2:40 am, they noticed that the patient stopped breathing. They tried to revive her but failed. She was declared dead at around 3:21 am.
Recently, the Icon Clinic finally released their official statement through their legal counsel Atty. Estelita D. Cordero.
“Sa ngayon, on-going ang imbestigasyon kung ano talaga ang sanhi ng kanyang pagpanaw,” said Cordero.
“Responsibilidad po namin sa publiko ang malaman ninyo ang katotohanan at ginagawa po namin ang lahat at kasalukuyan po kaming nakikipagtulungan sa abot ng aming makakaya upang malaman kung ano ang totoong nangyari sa ‘di inaasahang pagpanaw ni Bb. Saturnino,” she added.
She also said that the clinic has already talked to the victim's family and expressed their condolences.
However, the victim's mother, Sherly Saturnino, was deeply anguished over what happened. She stated that her daughter shouldn't have been allowed to undergo the operation if her body couldn't handle it. They are still waiting for the results of the autopsy.
“Ang sabi daw mag-antay ng within three hours or fours hours. Mayroon na namang lumabas, lalabas na rin daw wala din. Ngayon ang ginawa nila balik sila sa kwarto naka idlip sila,” she said.
Meanwhile, Cordero assured everyone that they will release more information once the investigation is concluded.
“Maglalabas po kami ng mga karagdagang impormasyon sa oras na nakalap na namin ang mga opisyal na datos mula sa imbestigasyon. Sa ngayon inaalalayan namin ang pamilya ni Bb. Saturnino sa kanilang pagluluksa,” she said.
