Exclusive - Maggie Wilson Was Not Happy With Her First Pregnancy 'I was getting angry at my child.'

At first glance, Maggie Wilson-Consunji would seem like she already has everything that a woman could ask for: a budding career, a successful business, and a happy family life.

But for her, the biggest blessing she ever got was her five-year old son Connor. In an interview with Philippine Entertainment Portal, the model turned beauty queen revealed that she feels lucky to have a son who does not throw tantrums, scream, scratch, or spit. "He's such a good boy" is the only thing that Maggie could say about her son.

The former Miss World revealed that while motherhood seems to be easy for her, such was not the case for her pregnancy. She admitted that her entire pregnancy until she gave birth was not a happy period in her life. "I was vomiting. I was bedridden, it was horrible for me." Wilson confessed.

The book she was reading on postpartum depression somehow helped her recognize the signs of the condition. When she got angry with her child, Maggie knew that she was experiencing postpartum depression. She attributed her stress to not having enough breast milk. She said that this is the reason why she was hard on herself because Filipina mothers tend to be judgmental.

Maggie Wilson gave birth when she was only 23 years old and she admitted to herself that she underestimated the responsibilities and pressure of giving birth. While she read many books about motherhood, nothing can truly prepare a woman for motherhood.

The host of Philippines Next Top Model replied at the end of her interview that she needs to be mentally prepared for her second baby.
