Kai Zachary Sotto was only thirteen when he joined the Ateneo Blue Eaglets last year. Since then, he has become one of the most popular junior basketball stars in the UAAP.
One of Kai's many assets is the fact that he's already 6'9" tall even at his early age.
According to ABS-CBN Sports, the 14-year-old basketball player grew even more after a year with the Eaglets. He is now standing 6'11" =, and has expressed dreams of becoming part of the NBA in the future.
Sotto played a remarkable role in the last Ateneo's late rally to make it to the Final 4 in the UAAP Juniors Basketball this year. The rising basketball star together with SJ Belangel brought their team to a tough playoff match against the FEU Baby Tamaraws.
With his outstanding play, Kai eventually was recognized as this season’s “Rookie of the Year.”
Kai may have been unlucky with the first round of the UAAP as he only averaged 4.4 points, 6 rebounds and 1.9 blocks, but his monster skills showed in his most recent performance. He bagged 2 points, 17 rebounds and 7 blocks in the fight against the FEU-Diliman crew.
Ateneo might not have a good start in this season, but Kai rose to fame for his incredible moves in court and his defensive resilience.
Kai is the son of former pro baller Ervin Sotto. He is looking forward improve his skills to qualify for the Jr. NBA camp and NBTC.
