An old woman went viral across the internet after her unusual story of robbery.
According to reports from GMA, Lillia Tacolog complained about being robbed of Php 1,000 from her own home in Currimao, Ilocos Norte last Friday. The authorities immediately responded the situation, noting that the culprits might just be one of her relatives as they know where the valuables were hidden. With this, the authorities planned to conduct an investigation and collect fingerprints from the window used in breaking into the house.
However, just before the investigation started, the money "came back" the next morning, together with a letter of apology. In the letter, the suspect addressed Tacolog as "Anti" which means Tita or aunt. The letter also pleaded for Tacolog to not to push through with the investigation.
The authorities noted that the suspect might have been afraid to get caught through the investigation and just decided to return the money.
Many of the netizens somewhat lauded the suspect's move on returning the money and compared them to politicians who plunder the country without any remorse.
One also commended the authorities for accommodating small crimes such as this: "I commend the policemen. In my experience kasi, nawalan ako ng bag sa mall pero walang aksyon on the part of the security and the nearby police station nung nagreklamo ako. Dios ti agngina!"
The post already garnered 12 thousand reactions and over 400 shares.
What can you say about the culprit?
