Exclusive - Ai-Ai Delas Alas, Rumored to Make a Comeback in the Kapamilya Network? See What She Has to Say About It!

Ai-Ai Delas Alas, whose real name is Martina Eileen delas Alas, is famous for her comedy stints. She started her career in 1975, first appearing as a TV host for RSVP in GMA. After her hosting career, she started to venture into making movies.

Like any other newbies in the film industry, Ai-Ai began as a sidekick of the lead star. As she made more movies over time, she was finally given her big break by ABS-CBN in the comedy film Ang Tanging Ina where she played the lead role of Ina.

Due to her bright career in the film industry, she began to explore more, this time in the concert scene. After a few concerts, she was then given the title “Comedy Concert Queen.”

Despite working with and successfully building her career in ABS-CBN, Ai-Ai just recently decided to go back to her roots, which is in GMA Network. The main reason which drove her to ign an exclusive two-year contract with GMA is the lack of projects she was getting from the rival network.

Upon moving to GMA, she received a lot of projects including a hosting gig at Sunday PinaSaya, casting in Let The Love Begin, and landing a role in Eat Bulaga’s Kalye Serye with Alden Richards and Maine Mendoza.

Recently though, a rumor suddenly surfaced online allegedly claiming that Ai-Ai is planning to return to the Kapamilya Network.

This news seems timely due to the fact that her contract with Kapuso Network will expire in July this year. In fact, she even confirmed the end of her contract during an interview with Philstar Ngayon.

When asked whether she plans to renew her contract with GMA, she responded by saying she wasn’t sure whether she will carry on with it or not.

On the other hand, this rumor might actually be true judging by the fact that she attended a meeting with Star Cinema on December last year to discuss details for an upcoming movie.

“Open naman ako sa lahat kung merong ano sa ABS, o kung may plano ang GMA, o meron din sa Channel 5, depende. Pero ano muna ako, kumbaga, freelancer. Si Boy (Abunda) na bahala dun,” she said.

As of now, Ai-Ai plans to visit the US once her contract with GMA ends.
