Exclusive - Shocking Photos Reveal What Life Is Like for Women in a Brothel In Bangladesh! This Is Horrible!

Prostitution is seen by many as taboo or an indecent occupation. Whether you’re the prostitute or the person offering the prostitute, people will look down upon you and view you as a vulgar person.

Despite this, many people still turn to it as their way of living.

In the Muslim country of Bangladesh, brothels (a place where people come to engage in sexual activity with a prostitute) are considered legal which is why a lot of females turn to this industry in order to provide money for their families. The women really don’t have much of a choice since most of them lost their jobs when their homes were destroyed in 2014.

Kandapara hotel, the second largest brothel in Tangail district in Bangladesh, houses the majority of the prostitutes or sex workers in the area. German photojournalist Sandra Hoyn decided to investigate what life is really like for these women, or more commonly known as “bonded”, once they get into the business.

According to the photographer, these women are usually owned by a “madam” or a person, usually a woman, who offers them to customers.

The “bonded” girls, who usually come from poor families, are not allowed to go outside for the duration of their time spent in the brothels. In fact, Hoyn also revealed that these women are not paid for five years. Only after five years can they be considered as independent sex workers and could then keep whatever they earn.
Despite living in this kind of condition, the women still have dreams. They told Hoyn that once they get the chance to earn enough money, they would want to live their own life without depending on men.
