Amidst the administration's efforts to lessen and eventually eradicate drug-related cases here in the country, drug addicts who are high still continue to wreck crime and havoc, to the point of killing someone.
A story of two ladies who were killed and murdered in Siquijor shocked the nation, after it went up on the news yesterday.
According to the police, the a skateboarder named Michael Malayo from Lapu-Lapu City is the primary suspect in the murder through stabbing of victims, Nikki Pinero and Loreen Ramirez. Pinero was 3 mos months pregnant.
Although news reports didn't specify what really occurred, some friends who were close to the victims, had their own version of the story.
According to Facebook user Dennis Caballero, the killing occurred when the group of Pinero and Ramirez was in the porch of a house they rented in Siquijor. Suddenly, Malayo entered the house and drank some water. They didn't mind him, since he was part of the competition that they also joined. While all of were probably relaxing, Malayo started his killing spree.
He started with Ramirez by stabbing her in the back. She screamed and asked for help, but due to shock nobody was able to come to her aid. The killer was able to stab her for a second time, and unfortunately hit her heart. Seconds later, her boyfriend, Wiz, realized what was happening and let out a strong kick which made the killer tumble, it gave them time to escape. While everyone was running, Nikki still froze in shock. when she came back to her senses, she ran to the kitchen and was stabbed there.
Other members of the group heard what's happening, while Nikki was being stabbed and they claimed that the suspect was hallucinating at the time of the incident.
The two victims were still brought to Siquijor Provincial Hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Malaya is already under police custody, and will be filed with numerous charges, including counts of murder. Police officials recovered a sachet of marijuana and six pieces of kitchen knife with blood stains.
The shocking incident brought sorrow to the families of the victims who just went in Siquijor to have a good time, but instead experienced killing straight out of a horror movie. Unfortunately, it wasn't just a nightmare, it was reality. A reality that drug abuse could really be fatal and should be stopped.
