In Yemen, an 8-year-old child bride passed away the night that after she got married to a 40-year-old. Human Rights group are already on the move for the arrest of the man who was wed to the little girl.

The little girl passed away in the tribal area of Hardh in the northern part of Yemen which is near the border to Saudi Arabia, Al Nahar, Lebanon announced.

Forced child marriages have been a consistent issue in the Middle East.

A famous blogger, Angry Man, made a post saying that the man ‘an animal who deserved to be punished severely for his crime.’

He also added, “All those who supported such a crime should be punished.”

Omar who is also a blogger said: “Rawan’s family members are not humans. They do not deserve to have children.”

According to the UNFPA or the United Nations Population Fund, there will be more than 140 million girls that will become child brides between the years of 2011 and 2020.

This means 140 million girls will be married before they reach 18 and 50 million below 15 years old.

A report said that in Yemen, very young are wed before they turn 15.

Girls who were forced to wed early are not just deprived of health and education. They are also exposed to sexual, mental and physical abuse.
