The death of Albuera Leyte Mayor Rolando Espinosa continues to baffle the whole country as the PNP investigates the case. The mayor was shot inside his jail cell last week and many names were linked to the said assassination. It can be recalled that the late Mayor voluntarily surrendered himself to the authorities after President Duterte mentioned his name in the matrix of those who are illegal drugs. It later turned out that his son Kerwin was one of the biggest drug lords in the Visayas region.
The PNP is still gathering sufficient evidence regarding the case but according to the initial reports, a group of men pretended to be CIDG and broke inside the prison. The jail guards’ testimony reaffirmed the said reports.
A source stated:
“Mga guwardya, pinaluhod, dinisarmahan at piniringan umano nang pasukin ng mga operatiba ng CIDG ang kulungan ni Albuera Mayor Rolando Espinosa ayon sa isang guwardya na humiling na itago ang kanyang pagkakakilanlan.”
