Exclusive - Filipina Gets Featured In An Article By Singapore-Based Journalist, And It Will Touch Your Heart! MUST READ!

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) are known to be one of the most caring people in the world. Many of them have been appreciated for their selflessness and capacity to give love to the ones they take care of.

However, being an OFW is not easy. Besides of the load of work, leaving their family is the huge sacrifice they had to make in order to make a living.

A Singapore-based journalist named Rob O'Brien wrote an article about a domestic Filipina worker who left his children to take care of his own.

His article at the Medium.com is titled "Marifel: The Woman Who Left Her Children Behind To Look After Mine" tackles the sacrifices of  Filipino domestic workers

According to O'Brien, Marifel is only one of the 220,000 workers in Singapore who function as "domestic workers, cleaning, looking after children, the elderly and disabled and performing countless domestic chores."

Marifel was hired by O'Brien through an agent which hires domestic workers. Working as a domestic helper for a very long time, Marifel has become used to goodbyes. O'Brien was able to witness this as he went to the Philippines with Marifel. O'Brien wanted to see first hand the sacrifices which Marifel made. He went to their new home, the fruit of Marifel's labor, to meet her loving children and husband.

But not all domestic workers are treated the way they should be treated. O'Brien even said that some of them are treated as a furniture, some given restrictions such as being "locked into their homes, limits their ability with their family and in some cases, subject them to serious abuse?"
